Willa forms plans to defeat evil Barridean's kingdom but things don't turn out as expected |
Fay Warrior, Fay Master Chapter One She had been watching him for weeks now…captivated by his every move. Each thing he did no matter how mundane seemed incredible to her. She memorized his body, his daily activities, and his habits imprinting his entire being upon her soul. He fascinated her like no other human had ever done before. Her fiery heart pumped boiling blood through her body because she wanted him, needed him…had fallen in love with him. Her ‘kind’ were known to be fierce lovers and she was no different. And just as with any of the others, she had had her fair share of pleasurable couplings without, of course, the final joining. But she had never had any outside of her own kind. So it awed her to realize that something about this human had cast its web of intrigue…ensnaring her…setting her ablaze. True…she was only the size of one of his hands but she still could not help craving his touch, dreaming of how it would feel to be taken by such a one as he. But she had longed for him silently. The Faerie people and humans just could not mix. It was not possible, or so they said. Willa had sought all information concerning the joining of humans and fairies and had happened across an interesting legend. A legend even hidden from her mother, the Queen. The tantalizing human moved toward the edge of the creek bed and slowly stripped of his clothing. Willa shivered with anticipation as she quickly flew in for a closer look. His handsome body glistened with masculine sweat in the heat of the sun causing her own body to ache for him. She inhaled deeply his unique scent mixed with spicy teletrum weeds. What she would give to be able to press her naked flesh against his…to make him hers for all eternity. All eternity…she grimaced remembering the long-standing feud between the two houses. Why did her mother insist upon this marriage? Marriage to Barridean could not possibly be the only way to end the feud. And she did not love him…or want him. His arrogance knew no bounds. How could she possibly tolerate marriage to such a beast when his very presence turned her stomach? Her fingers curled angrily about the edge of the leaf that she spied on the human from. She would rather go to war! His kind did not deserve to live anyway. They were a disgrace to the name Faerie…a disgrace to the name Pixie. After all, they had never cared for Mother Earth or its inhabitants including the humans. They consistently wreaked havoc in every unimaginable way. And the last horrendous act had cleaved the houses apart from one another in such a way that she could not understand her mother’s reasoning of marriage to salvage the fairy race. There was no saving for one such as Barridean. Willa swallowed the rising bile as she closed her eyes tightly. The child had only been a babe. Human or naught, it should have been protected when it had been abandoned. But before her house could reach him, the other house had unfortunately found the infant. She could not even imagine the atrocities that had occurred. And what also shocked her was the evidence of wharf trolls having been there… menacing creatures that strangely enough had encroached upon Fay territories not just on the outskirts but now between the Fay kingdom borders! So there was little left of the human infant when they had arrived for the rescue. This gruesome situation presented itself as ominous and foreboding on so many levels. Why had the other house done such an unspeakable thing and why after so many years were the trolls boldly appearing where they should not? The answers evaded her but she determined they would not for long. She opened her eyes again wishing away the images and inhaled deep breaths to steady her thundering heart. Now was not the time to think on such things. Greater tasks brewed that surely would finally put an end to the blood-feud forever. She would prove to her mother that marriage was not the only answer. And her human held the key for such tasks. She continued to watch as her beautiful man bathed. Her own body moistened with need as she lay flat upon the leaf pressing her hips instinctively against it. She longingly studied the hard cut muscles that rippled beneath his skin while her eyes traveled lower to the bulging shaft between his legs that he now washed. Again, as so many times before, the question flitted about in her head. How will I take him? How could she place herself in the position to test the old legend? It remained far easier for a male fairy to get his way than for a female…the access proved less formidable for them. As Willa lovingly spied on the man and continued mulling over her thoughts, she did not hear what she had attracted. “So…this is where you spend your days…watching a pathetic oaf of a human.” She started with surprise. Barridean stood behind her with fists planted disdainfully upon his hips. His body had the hard chiseled cut of a Fay Warrior lacking softness or any noticeable physical weakness. His coarse black hair flowed freely down to his shoulders and dark eyes glinted with a coldness that she had never seen in a fairy until years ago when they had met. At that time, she had been fascinated by their differences…but no more. She had never understood the teaching that the eyes were the window to the soul. Until now. She now knew that in her heart of hearts his eyes matched his very blackened soul. She shivered in revelation then her golden eyes flashed angrily as she hissed, “I would rather spend the rest of my days in his oblivious company than even a second in yours!” “Pity, since we soon will be wed and you will undoubtedly be spending much time with me…days and nights,” he promised darkly emphasizing the word “nights” as he moved nearer. “You seem so confident in something that will not occur…” “Your mother has assured me that I may have your hand so our marriage is imminent regardless of your protests,” he grinned as the new information seemed to sink in. But if he thought that this would smooth the way for him, he was sadly mistaken. Willa’s wings buzzed with fury. “Never! I will never join with you! Believe me; I will speak to Mother on this matter immediately! And once she realizes her mistake, it will soon be rectified,” she spat and leapt up facing off with him. “But you have coupled with me before, LaLei…,” he cajoled changing tactics and moving even closer. “I am not your Love! And it was in the error of youthful naivety only but rest assured, there will be no final joining between us! You have guaranteed this!” “Oh, but you will join with me again…and completely. Even if by, should we say, a little urging,” he whispered the last part while his eyes narrowed. She noted the hooded look and her heart fluttered in warning; she swallowed glancing around for escape. Though her skills were formidable, she knew she was no match against his skills or brawn. Unfortunately, because she had snuck away to watch her beloved human, there were no others around to aide her. McKinzie S. Heart ~Live to write, write to live~ |
