Dark Sun 01-07-03
He lingers in the remains of his dreams,
Lingers and waits for the morning to arrive,
To awaken from the warm confines of his dreams,
And face the reality of being alive.

The world of his dreams turns slowly,
Pivoting on the wheels of eternity,
He turns with it, searching for mornings glow,
Why the dream has not ended he does not know.

The dark sun has risen, filling his mind with night,
His heart speeds up, pounding frantically with fright,
He kneels on the nothingness of dreams domain,
As the monsters parade before him, dead and profane.

Past regrets rise up to meet current thought,
The flames of this Hell grow all the more hot,
He sweeps up the nothingness beside him, holds it near,
It offers no comfort, only fills him with fear.

Rising slowly the nightmare takes shape and life,
He longs for morning to come and end the strife,
They draw nearer, these creatures of the dark and death,
Even as he recoils they lean in and steal his breath.

Standing beside his dead body he dares to weep,
The dark sun has risen, the blackness is deep,
He knows it is only a matter of time before the darkness will break,
But, alas, the nightmare has just begun, and he shall never wake.

He lingers in the remains of his death,
Lingers and waits for the morning to arrive,
To awaken from the horror confined in his dreams,
To face the terror of not being alive.
