Once Upon A Shadow, Deep Inside A Dream

Rise Up 01-15-03

You stand beside them, breathing labored,
Your palms sweat as you wait, feeling favored.
The knife in your hand is sharp and cool,
And the victim is unaware you're there, the fool.

The group you remain with through it all,
Long hours spent waiting for their call,
The power you feel as you kill your prey,
Remains with you for at least a day.

You lick your lips as you feel your pulse race,
You know you will get away without a trace,
You shift your weight and test the knife,
Inside you feel the hunger to end a life.

She steps into the shadows, moving toward her car,
You smile because you know she won't make it that far.
The group moves as one, breathing as one,
Enjoying the smell of sweat you know this will be fun.

You fall upon her first, not waiting for the others,
She tries to scream but your right hand smothers.
You stab her squirming body with frenzy, it's what you do,
And you grow excited as you feel her heart beating against you.

The others watch then move in to join the dance,
The plunging of the knives move as though you're in a trance,
She is dead, has been for a long time, her heart beat is no longer felt.
You lay her on the ground and undo your belt.

They find her the next morning, mutilated and raped,
You saw their faces in the paper, they stared and gaped,
They cannot believe someone could do this evil thing,
You just smile, thinking of the joy killing will always bring.

You are an invisible group, a group of others like you,
Killing, raping, and thriving on torture and death is what you do,
Maybe someday they will understand, someday you could tell them all,
But for now you and your demon friends will continue killing...you wait for the call.
