Crimes Against Logic
Yesterday, I spoke of finishing Freakonomics. Well, after that entry, I also finished reading Crimes Against Logic:

Many of the Amazon reviewers spoke of the author's dismissive, arrogant, or contemptuous tone. Well, I'd have to agree. But to paraphrase one of the author's (Jamie Whyte, a professor at Cambridge) own arguments, what the hell does that have to do with anything?

As books on logical thinking go, it's clear, concise and accessible to both American and British readers. And face it - if you were a professor at Cambridge, you'd be a snob too. Nootch.

And this one came completely out of the blue! Or purple, more precisely. I honestly never expected this. Thanks, kittiara!
