“Summertime, and the livin’s easy…”

The living might be easy, but the shopping isn’t, especially when it comes to swimsuits! Men have it easy, for the most part. They can go and buy a pair of swim shorts without having to try them on. Women get the wonderful task of trying to find the ‘right’ store first. You see, I can’t shop at all stores. Some stores just do not carry clothing that fits my body type. So, after finding the ‘right’ store, then the task of finding the style and color of swimsuit is presented. There’s one pieces, two pieces, and then those that are somewhere in between. I personally like a lot of coverage, so I go for the skirted one piece swimsuits. Even then it’s a challenge. The skirt is often too short of a length, not even covering my rear end. I must find a suit that has heavier material so the skirt has some weight, with a full skirt, not a fitted one, and with the appropriate length. Oh, and did I mention the straps have to fit well? If they are a little too big, they fall off, and that’s not pleasant for anoyone!

I found a clothing magazine that takes some of the mystery (and supposedly hassle) out of swimsuit shopping, by comparing women’s body types with flowers, then listing the suits that would look best. Did you know women come in
Daffodil, Lily, Begonia, Tulip, and Gladiolus shapes? I’m a Daffodil! My mother-in-law is a Lily. My grandmother is lucky enough to be a Tulip. At least they’ve admitted there are more than two body shapes, whereas before they were comparing us to pears and apples! I’d rather be a flower than a fruit!

Well, the summer living may be easy and the shopping may not be, but at least there is variety in the world and plenty of flowers! I’ve picked a few budding Newbies this week I’m sure you will enjoy!

Hi Sherri Q,
Thank you so much for your wonderful newsletter. As a newbie, it has taken a few log on's to get to know my way around. But thank's to the wonderful people on this site, and the exposure your 'editor's pick's' gave me and my stories, I am finding myself becoming severely addicted.
Thank's again
