A historical romance about Lindsey and Ashton |
Chapter Three Arriving at the townhouse, Ashton quickly ran the front steps, bursting threw the front door, tossing his cloak to the nearest chair. Making his way up the stairs, he had never felt anything like this before, his stomach was churring with pain. Taking the steps two at a time, he was quickly standing in front of Lindsey’s bedroom door. He wasn’t sure if he should break it down or simply knock. The pain in his mid-area grew stronger, he knew something was truly wrong, not sure, what he should do. For all he knew, Lindsey could be resting sweetly, like she had been when she fainted, or she could be in terrible pain. Thinking the ladder was the correct answer, he didn’t bother with knocking, instead grabbed the knob and turned. Sucking in all the air that he could he pushed the door open. He had hoped his suspicions would be proven wrong, instead waking her from a peaceful sleep and her yelling at him again with her fiery temper she had somewhat showed him earlier in the day. That would not be the case tonight, shutting the door behind him, he scanned the room. It was very dark, no candles had been lite, and the fire had died down long ago, leaving only a few glowing red coals lite the room. Walking in the direction of the bed, he remembered seeing a candle sitting on the night stand. Glad that he remembered where the candle was, he quickly got it lite, and looked over the bed, she wasn’t there. Taking the candle, he immediately saw her laying on the floor, over by the wash stand, still holding a cloth in her hand. Relieved of his worse fear, he walked over to her, leaning down, taking a closer look. She appeared to be unhurt, but why had she been laying on the floor. Ashton hoped that she would wake up and he could get very question answered. Scooping her up into his strong arms, he noticed this time she looked much smaller in his arms, but then again, he really didn’t pay attention the last time. Much like a little doll she was lifeless in his arms, her head tilted into his chest, he could feel her shallow breath burning through his clothing. This was the strangest time for him to be feeling turned on, but in fact, holding her in his arms felt good to him. Ashton just wished it was under different circumstances, and that she might be awake, able to look up at him with her blue jewels that she held in her eyes. Why was he thinking of such things, he cursed himself for being so unfeeling. He should have been concerned about why she was on the floor, which he was, but not feeling arousal also. Setting her down on the bed, she gave a little moan but didn’t regain consciousness. Pulling the chair back to the side of the bed, where he had placed it earlier, he sat down, getting comfortable, knowing he would wait til she awoke. *** Starting to dream off in wonderland, Lindsey awoke, in her bed, at first she thought she wasn’t dreaming but then she quickly knew, she was laying in her bed, but without clothing. That was something she had never done, not even when her husband was still living in the house. She kept looking around the bed for her covers but saw that they had all been removed. Suddenly she looked her side and there laid one of the most perfect body she had ever seen. While blushing, she couldn’t help but move her eyes along his body, inspecting every luscious inch of his body. Looking up at the man’s face, she saw that it was Ashton. Reaching over and touching her on the cheek, he whispered to her, she wasn’t sure what he was telling her, but then again all she could do was stare at his eyes. She was in a trance and there was nothing she could do to stop it. She felt powerless when she was around him, there was nothing she could do. His eyes were smiling at her, the gleamed with the stars from the heavens. Moving closer, he whispered in her ear, this time she heard the words he had told her before. “My lady, do you want me?” he asked tracing his finger over her lips. Nodding her head yes, he said “prove it to me then.” In her mind she was yelling, she kept asking “how, how do I prove that I want you?” Kissing her on the earlobe, he whispered, “show me, show me something you have shown no man before.” “What is it that you want to see?” she asked, with a confused look on her face, still staring into his emerald eyes. “Show me how you would make love to me, but by yourself, I want to watch you. Show me.” he said softly into her ear. Almost shocked by what he had said, she shook her head no, but he took her hand and placed it on her sex. Whispering again, he said “I want to see, show me.” Lindsey had no clue what to do, but for some reason, she started moving her hand, over the curls of her womanhood, down to the soft folds of her body. Rubbing softly, she felt her body open up, like a flower blooming with her touch. Watching her every move, he kissed her bare nipple, it tasted like honey to him, “hmm, my sweet, show me more, I want to see more.” he said smiling. Moving her fingers further down, she noticed she was wet, hot and wet, something she had never noticed before. She wasn’t sure if she was doing it correctly, but her body was tingling. He faced her for a brief moment, she look in his eyes, they were begging her to continue, and she did. Sliding her legs open a bit further than they had been, she moved her fingers through the wetness, until they were soaked with the juices from her body. Moving his hands down to help her, he placed his hand on top of hers, showing her what the next step were. Rolling the tips of her fingers over nub that was beginning to ache with desire, her body rippled with pleasure. Not able to keep her eyes open, she tilted her head back and gave a soft moan. Heat waves soared through her body, her appetite grew with each moment. She wanted more, she needed more, more of him. She wanted him inside her that instant, but when she looked up at him, it wasn’t Ashton anymore. It was the face that had been haunting her dreams for more than a year. Robert. He grabbed her hands, pulling them up above her head, then rolled his body on top of hers. His breath reeked of booze, his eyes were lite with flames of hate. Lindsey was afraid. Covering her body with his, she couldn’t hardly move, she tried to fight him off, but wasn’t strong enough. Robert kept licking her cheek, making her feel dirty. Then holding both her wrist with one hand, he opened her legs even more, sliding one of his fingers inside of her. “Don’t try and fight me, you know you can not win against me, I’m stronger than you. Aw, my sweet, you are very wet, and ready for me I see.” he said with a snicker, watching her wiggle trying to free herself from him. “You stupid bitch, when are you going to learn, your nothing. You will never be anything more than a stupid woman. Who would want you after you have shamed yourself in a divorce?” he said with his demon eyes. With that he placed his drunk mouth over hers and kissed her, then lifted up, pushed himself inside of her body. The pleasure she had moments before disappeared, only to be replaced with pain. It felt as he was trying to hurt her, like she had done something wrong and needed to be punished. Tears freed themselves from her eyes, there was nothing she could do. She was helpless. *** Watching Lindsey as she slept, Ashton kept wondering what it would be like to make love to her, her soft skin pressed against his. Her lips tangled in a passionate kiss with his. The movement from the bed broke his thoughts, he watched her, she seemed to be fighting with someone, but who? Tossing her head this way and that, kicking at something that wasn’t there, she was having a nightmare. He had no clue what she could be struggling with, so he decided to try and wake her. Climbing on the bed and taking her arms, he started to whisper in her ear. Instead of getting her to wake up, he got an elbow in the ribs. Moving to a different type of approach, while still holding her arms, he held a little tighter, but talking to her instead of whispering. “Lady Payton, please do wake up, you are having a bad dream.” with a look of desperation on his face. Shaking her head, her eyes flickered open, “oh, OH, dear me, where am I?” she said with a confused look on her face. She was glad she had been dreaming, it started out so real. The pain felt so real to her, parts of her body ached, as she sat up. Trying to wake herself even more, she looked about the room, but still very much lost. “My sweet, you are in your bedchamber, do you not remember?” he said in the most sincere voice. “What?, OH, then what are you doing in here, AGAIN?”, Lindsey said, almost at the top of her lungs. “Shh, you wont want to wake you staff do you?” saying with a smile on his face. “No,” lowering her voice, “but again, what are you doing in my bedchamber,” glancing down seeing that this time the covers were not over her, “and why am I in my nightgown, with no covers?” Not even trying to hide his smile, “well, my lady, that is a little story that is going to have to wait til morning.” “Please hand me my robe, IF you don’t mind.” she glared at him, not liking the way he was smiling at her. Going over to the lounge chair, he picked up her robe, and kindly handed it to her. Then going back to the chair he had once decided would be his bed for this evening, he sat down. Watching her as she put her robe on, he couldn’t help but wonder what it truly would feel like making love to her. Closing his eyes, trying to get the thoughts out of his mind, if only for the moment, he re-opened them and saw her glaring at him again. “Might I ask what you are doing?” she snapped. “Well, I was going to save the story for later, but as it seems you wont let me rest til I tell you,” he said rubbing his head. With a blank look on her face, he could see that she was waiting for him to finish with what he was saying. “I came home,” he looked straight in her eyes, to see if she was going to say anything, when he saw that she wasn’t making an attempt he went on, “and it felt like something was amiss, so I came to check on you, and sure enough, you were laying on the floor, out cold. So, like the kind, caring person I am, I picked you up, again, and placed you in bed.” he said hoping she was happy with his answer. Instead of her thanking him, he got another question, “so, why are you still in here, after you saw that I was safe back in bed, you could have found your way to your own room,” Lindsey said, without even noticing that she said his room. “Well, I suppose I could have left you on the floor too, but I thought that might be a bit rude of me. So, I decided to watch you and make sure you were doing ok.”he said sternly. Regaining the kindness in his voice, he asked “are you ok?” She looked at him for a moment, she could really see the care he had in his eyes, but she wasn’t sure what had happened. Still not even sure if she was indeed ok. Finally, taking a deep breath and letting it out slowly, she thought of an answer. “I do think I will be ok, but I am extremely sleepy. I thank you very much for not leaving me on the floor, I still haven’t a clue why I was on the floor,” she said, pressing her memory for any clue or thought on why she was on the floor. “I see, well, if its all the same to you then, I think I should remain in my comfortable bed, that I have right here,”he said with a snicker. She knew he was lying, the chair he was sitting in was no way comfortable to sit in, much less trying to sleep in it. What she didn’t know was why he thought it was so important that he keep to her bedside, she seemed to be doing ok now, wasn’t she? “Might I ask, what you have planned to do if one of my servants happy to walk in, or maybe the fact that since I am a married woman, that you shouldn’t be in my bedchamber at all?” questions she really wish he wouldn’t avoid. “Hm, good questions, I think you’re full of them tonight,” he let out a small laugh but then coughed to cover it up. “Sorry, my throat is a little tender tonight,” he lied, she knew he was lying, but he kept on, “I suppose, that I will remain here until you have fallen back to sleep, then I will go find my own bedchamber, but I truly hate having to give up this chair.” Finally, he won, she was smiling, not a big smile, but all the same a smile. Tracking down her covers, she pulled them up over her body, “very well, have it your way, I’m too sleepy to fight with you any longer,” she huffed then turned to her side, and closed her eyes. Ashton smiled, another victory for him, leaning over he blew the candle out. Stretching out as much as he could, trying to find a way he might manage some sleep in the chair from hell he softly whispered “goodnight my sweet.” Not even putting up a fight she whispered, “goodnight.” She couldn’t seem to go back to sleep after than, even as much as she wanted to, she kept thinking about the dream he had awoke her from. Was it truly him she was dreaming of, it was his strong body next to hers, but she hadn’t even seen his body naked. Not sure what in the world she was doing in her dream, or was it a nightmare, she knew that when she saw her husband, Robert, that it indeed was a nightmare. The man she had once thought she loved, had treated her cruelly, so bad that now she would have dreams, no nightmares about him. He scared her, not sure why, but he a control over her than she feared. Finally, she closed her eyes tight, and acted like she was sleeping, hoping she would soon enough be asleep. Lindsey wasn’t the only one not getting any sleep at that moment, Ashton, was fighting with the chair, that he boasted was so comfy, and the wonder of what she had been dream of. Think of his plan, the details had been going perfectly, until he came home and found her on the floor, that was something he hadn’t expected. Ashton wasn’t the sort of man that liked surprises, he liked everything planned out, the way he wanted things to go. Looking up he saw Lindsey tossing and turning in the bed, she looked asleep, but in a fitful sleep. His mind turned to the things his mother use to do when he had trouble sleeping, she would lay next to him and stroke his forehead, something he missed, even as a grown man. Climbing up in the bed with Lindsey, he pulled her body closer to his. Resting her head on his shoulder, wrapping his arms around her, and with his free hand, he started to lightly stroke the strands of loose hair away from her face. As his eyes drifted over the features of her face, he was almost lost, he had never seen such a beautiful woman in all his life. His mind was in aw of her, the way her cheeks held the light rose colored glow, the fullness of her lips. Closing his eyes, trying to stop thinking of her features, he knew that if he gazed at her much longer he would be kissing the fullness of her lips, and running his hands over the roses on her cheeks. She could feel the warmth off of his body, he had pulled her into his arms, and she did not fight. Why? Why did she not fight, she knew she shouldn’t even allow him in her bedchamber, but here he was. Even worse, he was on her bed, with her in his arms, it was all wrong, but she didn’t want to let go. Was she even sure she wanted for him to let go? Knowing she should have forced him to leave her house, but she didn’t. What in the world was she thinking, if people were to find out about this, she would be ruined, well she would be even more ruined. Her head started to pound again, so she tried to push all the thoughts away, besides, Ashton’s sandalwood smell was surrounding her, she was intoxicated by his smell. Slowly she drifted off to sleep, wrapped in the arms of a man she still thought of as a stranger. One last thought entered her head, why was she not infuriated by the control Ashton seemed to have over her? |
