If you’re a newbie and haven’t already, please visit our "Noticing Newbies"  forum to introduce yourself and meet other newbies, and/or "Writing.Com General Discussion" to chat with other members about a variety of topics. Either forum is a good place to mingle with your fellow Writing.com members.Before we shine the spotlight on Newbies, I want to take just a few minutes to remind our members of a couple of important Writing.Com policies. If you didn't read the user agreement carefully at sign-up, I encourage you to do so now: http://www.writing.com/main/agreement.php Please make sure your user information is correct and accurate. This up-to-date information is required for the protection and verification of your portfolio and copyright. Also, your personal information must be accurate in order to be eligible for promotion. Pen names or initials are not accepted. Go to your "My Account" page and click on "Change Personal Information" to check and insure it is correct. Another item from the user agreement I'd like to address is abuse of free membership. Non-paying members are not allowed to post more than one poem or short story per static item. Placing multiple items within one static in order to avoid the 5 item limit is considered abuse and is strictly prohibited. Stashing items within items to avoid the free membership limit is comparable to shoplifting from a department store to avoid paying for them and although violators won't be arrested at Writing.Com, they do run the risk of losing their account altogether. Please keep these two things in mind as you begin to get involved around our community, as violation of either rule is grounds for account termination.
