Letter from the editor

Summertime - pen and paper.

It is summer at the fullest here at the moment. You can say it is hot – quite extreme hot for what we are used to in The Netherlands. A good time to travel to the beach, or to sit in the shadow for a bit. If you have pen and paper with you, you might be inspired to write.

Pen and paper… a traditional way of writing, but a useful one. You can use it to write down a few story lines. They can help you later on, to compose your story in a more easy way.

Pen and paper… a helpful tool to make notes.

Pen and paper… even a poem written down in a few seconds will be stored safely until you digitalize it in your computer.

Pen and paper… when you do some research, you can’t do without pen and paper.

Resources are usually very helpful. Here on Writing.com you can find resources as well… for poets and for authors in every genre. The Writing.com newsletters are providing you with tips and tricks, to make your writings better. You are pointed into directions to receive reviews on your work. You are pointed to contests, if you like to write for the kick. You may even win a few giftpoints or an award icon, or even an upgrade!!! You are pointed to helpful tools, to learn a new form in poetry or to improve your skills in writing dialogue. Resources are necessary for any author – newbie or not, to get a step closer to your goal: being published!!!

I’ll list a few other resources for you:

The last one is a poem I personally found well written, after I informed the
author to feature it in the Noticing Newbies newsletter, the rating was
pulled up to NC17.
