Personal thoughts for today: I guess right now I am not very pleased with where my life is at the present. I feel embarrassed by it and don't really want to talk about it. I could argue that a lot of it has been beyond my control. Yet, another argument could be made I know. I'm the one who chooses to stay in the situation. Life! Sometimes, it can feel so complicated. You do what you think you should and it turns out wrong. Other times, you think you are doing it all wrong and it ends up ok. I have learned from past mistakes, but life tends to just go in circles sometimes no matter how much you try to do it differently. Feeling kind of frustrated.

Take UP Your Cross

Blog Prompt: What do you believe defines a peacemaker? Are you a peacemaker? Why or why not?

Answer: I believe a peacemaker is a person who seeks peace in every situation. The dictionary describes a peacemaker as a person who brings about peace, especially by reconciling adversaries.

Prayer prompt: Pray for the courage and boldness to stand firm in your faith even when you are being mistreated for it.

Dear Lord,
Help me to stand firm in my faith even when I am being mistreated for it. However, don't let me develop a martyr's complex either. And let me rejoice when I am being mistreated for my faith, knowing that I have a reward in heaven for enduring it.
In Jesus' name,
Amen

Pick one or all of these national days to discuss December 12th: Gingerbread House Day, Christmas Jumper Day, National Poinsettia Day, National Ambrosia Day, and National Ding-A-Ling Day.

I had to look up National Ding-A-Ling day. I didn't know what it was. LOL Apparently, it is where you are supposed to reconnect with old friends and family that you haven't had much contact with all year. Ding-A-Ling could refer to a lot of things. I was a bit worried there for a minute. At first, I thought it might have something to do with bells or maybe a day to act a little bit crazy. Ha-ha.

Evidently, Ambrosia is a Greek Mythological food and is considered to be the food of the gods. The Greeks believed anyone consuming this food would become immortal. Hmmm! The word ambrosia means delicious or fragrant in Greek. It is also considered to be a healthy food. But it's all Greek to me. Ha-ha!

National Poinsettia Day - On National Day today website, it says this about the day. "What we refer to as National Poinsettia Day is called "La Flor de la Nochebuena" — or Flower of the Holy Night in Mexico. Poinsettias are revered there because of a legend that recounts the story of a poor little girl who despaired of having no gift for Jesus’ birthday." The Poinsettia was my dad's mother's favorite flower.

Christmas jumper day is a UK holiday fundraiser. People donate money and wear a jumper on this day to raise money to give children a better future everywhere.

Gingerbread house day. What a wonderful way to celebrate the holiday season, bring the family together, and express your artistic side. It smells and tastes wonderful. The best thing about building a Gingerbread house is eating it afterwards.

What books have you read that you find yourself thinking about years later?

I am always reading and thinking about the Bible. As I wrote about yesterday, I love to read books written by Gilbert Morris. I also am one for reading controversial books for myself and developing my own opinions about them. For example, I read the book about the Bible code even though my pastor was against it. I like to think for myself and I tend to rebel against someone who thinks they can tell me what to think about something without my seeing it or reading for myself.
