Bombs Away

Bombs Away

Who cares about the children?
Left behind as orphans

As the bombs fall
In Gaza, Lebanon, Israel,
Ukraine,

and hidden wars
In Africa and elsewhere,

The bombs don’t care
They do their bomb thing
Blowing stuff up.

The politicians justify it
Denouncing their enemies
Who promises revenge.

The children left behind
Just collateral damage
Regrettable but
what one can one do?

The public does not care
They are not concerned
With the children left behind.
In foreign far away wars.

And so it goes
Every day more atrocities
More terrorist attacks
More bombs falling.

And more children
Dying as the bombs
Continue to fall
Doing their bombing thing.

Images of children in a bombed-out neighborhood

Note: I am not taking sides here. Other than to plea for this collective madness around the world to end. Stop the bombing, stop the terrorist reprisals. Think about the children left as orphans after the bombs fall. Just stop it.
