Another good writer with blond hair? "Forth Wing" by Yarros
Re "Forth Wing" by Rebecca Yarros.

After reading reviews I'll skip this. Squid Games? Cliche enemy to friend romance? Related to reality in what way? Is there any value to this other than popcorn, screaming and crying? I will watch silly BL series from Thailand, thank you. At least I'm learning about language and culture, even if some are just silly or fluffy.

So why does everyone LOVE this? It's an escape. It's sugar-coated vengeance and anger. Much what the average American wants to read. That there are actual issues out there in the Real World? No...

Summary found on the internet: "Fourth Wing is a high fantasy novel that follows a cadet named Violet Sorrengail as she braves Basgiath War College, where the only goal is to bond with a dragon or die trying. As the daughter of a commanding general, she has an immediate target on her back."

If I did a poll on Israel/Palestine would anyone care? I doubt it. That's a real war with real casualties. Has everyone forgotten the "Dragons of Kiev" or the "Sandworms of Sudan" or the "Karens of Myanmar" ... not really ... most folks either don't know or don't care. You have to care about something first to later miss it or forget it.

V for violence sell books. X for sex just makes folks snicker.

The author? Rebecca Yarros has worked for this. That said, so have many others who don't check off as many boxes as she does. She also fits the image of a romance reader/writer. High fantasy? I'm not convinced of that, unless it means "romance with a mythical beast".

Overall, I suspect it's well written and fluffy/steamy/escapist enough for the average romance reader.
