What do we see? [Week 32 entry]
What do we see?
The world doesn't see when our characters form,
influenced in turns by high praise and storm.
I wish all could see what dark paths we have walked;
instead, we are shunned or cruelly mocked.
What would you see, if you were to spy
on my day-to-day with your eagle eye?
What would I see, if I did the same,
if I sought you out as some little game?
If you were to see all the blots on my soul,
would friendship survive or find rocky shoal?
If I were to plumb the far depths of your heart,
would our ties still bind or fast come apart?
I hope you would see a man of kind mien
out doing some good (overt or unseen).
I hope I would see the friend that I know
show care for a stranger wherever they go.
