What a glorious winter’s day it is here in Perth Western Australia today. The three of us, my husband, dog Lucy and I went down to the beautiful river Swan for a walk. There is a great coffee van that’s always there. The coffee is just as I like it.. We shared a huge blueberry muffin, I think Lucy actually ate the paper case too. She nothing if not environmental! After a walk we sat in companionable silence on a park bench watching the ducks hovering around waiting for some tasty morsels. Sorry, not this time but we will remember to take some scraps next week. The only thing to break the silence was the occasional plane taking off from the airport a few miles away. I wondered where they were all going as not many Australians are travelling abroad these days. There is yet another lockdown in Victoria on the other side of the country, so I shouldn’t imagine many people would be flying there for a vacation as they would be forced to quarantine for two weeks on return.
I haven’t felt the urge to leave the relative safety of home lately, so as looked to the sky at the departing planes, I felt no envy.
