The "Blog City ~ Every Blogger's ParadiseOpen in new Window. prom for DAY 1247
“I am an expert swordsman. And I am skilled in the business of death. I take no pleasure in my skill. Simply, I am good at it.” ― Oliver Bowden, Assassin's Creed: Forsaken What do you think about this quote, and is there anything you’re good at but take no pleasure in exercising your skill?

Being good at a job without taking pleasure in it encourages depression and unhappiness. However, that is the way some people today feel about their jobs. This attitude contributes to mental and spiritual stagnation, which in turn may encourage physical stagnation and ill health. A person's job, especially a job one is skilled in should encourage feeling of joy and fulfillment. In addition, I don't see how one can do a good job when one takes no pleasure in it. I know if I don't enjoy what I'm doing then I find the quickest way to do it without worrying about how good a job I'm doing.

The "Blogging Circle of Friends Open in new Window. prompt for DAY 1733
Write a story or poem using these three nouns: beauty, water, canal.

I kneel in the sanctuary of God's love,
inhaling the fragrance of His beauty,
the Holy Spirit descends
like water flowing through
an irrigation canal.
