The Poet's Place - Warf Side - a Septilla
Heartily singing a diddly,

Quite boisterous and so glibly

Drunken sailors swig their ale.

The docks are alive with laughter

Engaging in raunchy banter;

It's cert'ly beyond the pale,

They've gone over the top - really.




The Septilla, aka Spanish Septet, is a seven line poem with most commonly eight syllables per line, with iambic tetrameter or pentameter also acceptable options. The rhyme scheme is either aabccba or abbacca, as described and demonstrated in the following links:
